We had the opportunity to speak with chef Mariangel Garibay, who explained the inspiration behind the concept.

They have a menu worthy of nonna's approval. Their bestsellers are the pastas and pizzas, such as the pasta di funghi , lasagna , and the arugula and prosciutto pizza. We recommend saving room for dessert, where you'll have trouble deciding. We recommend the tiramisu or the apple crumble.

Everything is homemade, so cooking takes time. The pasta is handmade, as is the bread made daily. Even the sauces are homemade. A single sauce can take up to eight hours to prepare, but don't worry, your food won't be long in coming.

If wines are your thing, at Macelleria you'll find unique brands that you can't find anywhere else. Most of their wines are Mexican, seeking to promote national consumption of brands with recognized offerings.
